The Dragons are a race of reptilian winged creatures. Dragons are well-known for their ability to breathe fire, and potentially cause widespread destruction across large swaths of land. Because of this, they were banished to a dungeon on an island in the far northwest. Today, the island is under the control of Demons, who have tried but failed to control them, for the most part. They are partial to treasures, and enjoy hoarding Gold and jewels.

Dragons have two attacks, both of which are shared by the Guardian Dragon one Area prior:

  • Fire Breath. The Dragon will spew a line of large fiery particles in a horizontal line from its mouth. Fire Breath extends all the way across the screen, but only lasts for about three seconds.
  • Tri-Shot Breath. The Dragon will fire three lines of particles similar to those of a Spiral Blast, one heading horizontally, and one each 45 degrees above and below.

Dragons are massive, but move extremely slowly, and the player is perfectly safe behind, above, or below them, so there are numerous ways to defeat one. In addition, Dragons only appear one at a time, so there won't be any further obstacles or dynamic situations to work with.

A Dragon's scales begin hardening around the time it becomes two hundred years old. The green pigment becomes gradually darkened by the crystallization process on the exposed side of the scale - below they remain green for somewhat longer.

Around five hundred years old, a Dragon goes through a second crystallization, this time on the inside of its scales and on its outer skin, turning them into a coppery, metallic surface known as Adamantite. This makes Ancient Dragons some of the most indestructible forces imaginable. Rumors abound that there was, several thousand years ago, a Dragon nest in the southeastern mountains - numerous Adamantite deposits have been found there and samples appear to possess great magic energy.

Tiamat is the oldest living creature in the world. Conservative estimates place it at around three thousand years old, but it could potentially be up to a thousand years older than that. Tiamat's scales have somehow turned a bright gold - exactly what material they are made out of is still unknown, and no one has dared to go into the deepest parts of the Dungeon to try and find out.

Tiamat is the second-hardest creature to defeat in the game, after Asmodeus. While Tiamat sometimes has more health, its attacks are far easier to avoid and they do not come out nearly as often. The battle with Tiamat is more of an endurance test than an actual trial. It is recommended to have at least 2000 Strength and a far higher-leveled sword before hunting for Tiamat.
